Cindy Heitman - Pride month

by Mich (ochiengm1) | Jun 03, 2024

Hadih- hello:

I believe that people reach their full potential when they feel a sense of welcome and belonging. As we mark Pride month locally and across Canada, I encourage you to learn more and consider our shared work to create a welcoming and accepting community at CNC.

As a place of learning, people come to CNC to find new opportunities and grow their understanding. Through study and connection with others, students at the college discover more about themselves and build personal and professional relationships.

For this to happen, there must be a sense of safety and acceptance. I am dedicated to a CNC that welcomes everyone and celebrates the diversity of all students.

I’m grateful for the activities of the college’s Pride collective, the CNC Students Union, and members of CNC’s student services team for arranging a month of activities. These include opportunities to learn about the Pride flag, education on the identities in the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community, wearing one’s Pride, and more. You will be able to find the details on CNC’s website.
I also encourage you to take part in events in your communities. Many dedicated groups have activities planned this month and next to celebrate Pride. By showing support and becoming allies, we can help build understanding across the region we serve.
Snachalhuya- Thank you.
