Other Libraries and Interlibrary Loans

Other Libraries & Interlibrary Loans

If you need research material that we don’t have, you can request it through Interlibrary Loans. We will borrow it from another library for you. Some of our main lending libraries are listed below. You can request items in several different ways:

  1. Fill out a CNC Interlibrary Loan Form and give it to library staff
  2. Search online databases and click on “Request This Item” when there is no full-text available. A form will pop up, enter your contact details
  3. Make a request for books and media using the BC Union Catalogues link below

Please note: Due to library closures across Canada because of Covid-19, physical items such as books may not be provided. Currently CNC is lending and accepting physical items with local (Prince George) libraries, as well as post-secondary libraries only, in B.C. only, that are providing this service. All electronic articles will be processed as per usual, unless the only lending library available cannot provide. If this is the case, we will contact you.

We will contact you when the item is available. Delivery is normally 2-5 business days for articles and 7-14 days for books, other items. Usually books are on loan for two weeks and online articles are yours to keep. Charges may apply in some cases.  Find out more about the Interlibrary Loan Service.
