Aboriginal Resources

Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC)

The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) provides information and support before and after you become a CNC student that will help you achieve your educational goals. We strive to provide culturally safe services and facilities to Aboriginal students.

In addition, ARC staff liaise with Aboriginal communities & organizations to engage them to work collaboratively with CNC to provide culturally relevant programs and services.

In addition, ARC provides a drop-in study centre for Aboriginal students and supports the activities of the Dream Hunters Aboriginal Student Club at CNC. The Staff at ARC provides moral support, encouragement and “a friendly listening post” to Aboriginal students whenever possible.

The Aboriginal Resource Centre (ARC) is located on the first floor of the Prince George campus, which is on the traditional unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. We acknowledge their graciousness for welcoming knowledge-seekers to their territory.

In addition, the Aborginal Advisor will liaise with sponsoring agencies, CNC faculty, academic and career planning and advise on support services at CNC.

An Aboriginal Support Worker provides individual support for funding applications, college bursaries/scholarships, as well as the recruitment, retention and success of Aboriginal students at CNC.

Some campuses have Cultural Advisors/Elders to provide spiritual and cultural guidance to the students and college community
