Why did you take the Academic Upgrading program at CNC?
I started the Academic Upgrading program at CNC after high school. During this time, I had a couple of areas I was interested in pursuing but my main goal was the Medical Radiography Technology program. Regardless of where I would apply myself, I knew I wanted a better academic outstanding.

What were some of your concerns coming into the program?
I was terrified to start my experience with college seeing I had no previous start of education outside of high school. I had no idea what this program was going to be like or how successful I would become.

How has the program helped you since taking it?
This program had aided me tremendously in getting accepted into the Medical Radiography Technology Diploma at CNC. I learned a lot about myself as a student and what worked best for myself in terms of studying and learning. I absolutely love my current program and would not have achieved getting to where I am today without the help of the ACDU program.

How were the instructors?
The instructors where absolutely amazing. I struggled in high school when it came to communication with my teachers. The ACDU instructors built up my ability to reach out when I needed help and had an understanding of work/relationships/life outside of the school that would sometimes impinge on our learning ability. They gave you the information needed for success and encouragement to continue to push yourself.

How did you balance responsibilities like family, work or other needs?
It was a bit of a rocky start balancing work and school. I worked 40 hours a week while taking studying at CNC but was able to choose classes that best fit my schedule. The instructors were very understanding if I was going to be absent and even provided me with the information required for that leave.

What advice do you have for others thinking to take the program?
This is an amazing program to take after high school. If you are looking to attain better grades in a new environment with like-minded students all trying to better themselves towards their futures goals, I would highly recommend this for you. If you are unsure of what you want to go into after high school, I would take this opportunity to continue your learning, increase your grade average, and gain the experience of post-high school learning.

Is there anything else you’d like to add that we haven’t asked?
Even If you don’t know what you want to pursue, or are waiting on acceptance into your dream program, I highly recommend this program. Education is the lightest baggage to carry, and the ACDU offers it in abundance.
