Mining Essentials:
Work Readiness Training for Indigenous Peoples

Mining Essentials teaches the essential and work readiness skills which have been validated and deemed necessary by industry to gain employment in the mining sector. Mining Essentials is the first step towards a rewarding career!

This program was created to help companies and communities meet joint hiring and employment targets. Mining Essentials allows companies to benefit from a local, skilled and safety-conscious workforce that also fosters economic development, resulting in healthier communities.

 

     Do I Qualify?

    The training program is designed specifically for Indigenous peoples by incorporating teachings that are culturally relevant to this group.

      Mining Potential:
      Essential and Work Readiness Skills Training for Women, Youth, and Newcomers

      The program provides opportunity to develop the non-technical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to achieve rewarding employment. It prepares learners for a career in the mining industry and provides employers with a workforce that is skilled and safety conscious. Mining Potential was created to address the industry’s labour market challenges and help mining companies meet their hiring needs by preparing underrepresented groups for employment.

          Step 2: Submit your Application

          Submit the form via email to the campus where your program is offered. Application contacts are listed with the intake dates above. 

          Alternatively, you may print the form and bring it with you in person to your CNC campus.

          Step 3:  Await Confirmation of Registration

          After you have submitted your application, keep an eye on your emails. We will get back to you within 3-5 business days with the next steps in your application process.
