HRC West Competition

CNC is sending a team from the Human Resources Management Post-Diploma (PDHRM) program to the HRC West Case Competition!

CPHR BC & Yukon and CPHR Alberta bring together teams of students from post-secondary business programs across Western Canada for a one-of-a-kind learning experience rolled into an action-packed weekend.

Student teams are faced with a comprehensive business case that explores a pressing HR challenge identified by working Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR). It’s a great opportunity for our students to connect with industry professionals, meet future business leaders, and gain real-world HR knowledge.

This year, the competition will be hosted by the University of Alberta on March 14 and 15, 2025.

Our team members this year are

  • Denise David has a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a passion for dragon boat racing. Basketball and softball allow her competitive spirit to thrive. Team sports have made her an excellent team collaborator. Denise worked in the Philippines as a recruiter and HR generalist prior to coming to CNC to enroll in the PDHRM program.
  • Neraine Alpasan is an experienced talent acquisition professional with extensive work experience in both Singapore and the Philippines, primarily in tech and engineering. She is a member of the CNC HR Club and volunteers at the Student Union and with Peer Connections, mentoring new students at the college. She enjoys tending to ornamental plants although we’re wondering if they’re still green with all the time she spends studying, working, and nurturing her family of four!
  • Jezer Narciso has a background in technology, banking, finance and human resources. He holds a bachelor’s degree in European Languages, and a master’s degree in international studies. But Jezer’s passion for music sets him apart from the average businessperson! He is our team’s Michael Bublé. Jezer was a devoted member of a university-based choir in the Philippines for nearly two decades – but you may have heard him crooning at Winston’s Restaurant on Friday evenings last fall and up to the New Year!
  • Mania Matloubi Aghdam is the President of the CNC HR Club and she volunteers for several non-profits working with children and seniors. Prior to coming to Canada, Mania worked in Turkey teaching English to orphaned children. Born and raised in Iran, she built her career in Turkey with over a decade of leadership experience. Mania also has a master’s degree in international business law.
