Indigenous Culture Week March 18 - 22
The College of New Caledonia is hosting an Indigenous Cultural Week to honour and recognize the rich and vibrant cultures of the First Nation, Inuit, and Metis Peoples of Turtle Island. We have scheduled the week of March 18-22, 2024, to showcase the richness, strength, and Ingenuity of all Indigenous Peoples. We invite students, staff, and the public to participate in the Opening Ceremony, and the workshops during the week. The workshop and teachings will be presented by Elders and local Knowledge Holders.
Opening Ceremony
Monday, March 18, 10:00 am – noon
Join us as we kick off Indigenous Culture Week with Welcomes and a performance by the Lhtako Youth Dancers. Guest Speaker Terrence Paul will speak about the Sundance, Sweat Lodge, and the Sacred Pipe, and how they pertain to Dakelh decolonization initiatives.
