Thinking of becoming a dental hygienist?
Get your first year of college behind you with the dental hygiene pathway certificate program. With this program, you’ll be meeting your course admission requirements for entry into a Dental Hygiene Diploma.
After receiving your Dental Hygiene Pathways Certificate, you have the option to apply to a Dental Hygiene program across BC, or transfer credits to a related program that better suits your future goals.

Our graduates are career-ready and are highly employable. CNC graduates are highly sought after. Working as a Dental Hygienist, you will practice in a variety of settings, such as:
- private dental practices
- independent dental hygiene practice
- public health facilities, hospitals
- long term care facilities

Dental Hygiene Pathway Certificate Courses
This certificate will provide admission requirements for students planning to seek entry into a Dental Hygiene program at CNC or elsewhere.
Core Required Courses
Successful completion of all required courses with a minimum grade of “C”.
Options & Electives
One of:
One of
One 100 or 200 level University Transfer English.
One additional University Transfer elective course in any subject.
For a full list of available UT elective courses, look at Credentials Associate Degrees Classification of Subjects list in the College Calendar ENGL 104, or ENGL 107, or ENGL 108 are recommended as the 100 level English elective option. CHEM 111 and CHEM 112 are recommended as the required chemistry courses.
