  • Removal of existing exterior building finishes in preparation for the new, energy-efficient building envelope.
  • Location: 100 Block, Main Campus Building.
  • Impact: Increased noise levels and alternate routing is expected.

About the Project 

The Building Envelope Project is designed to enhance the exterior of our Prince George campus with energy-efficient upgrades, a modernized aesthetic, and a focus on long-term sustainability. These improvements will provide a more comfortable, energy-efficient space for everyone at CNC while ensuring that our facilities remain resilient for generations to come.  

This project is made possible with restricted capital funding by the Ministry of Infrastructure.

  • Long-term durability to ensure the campus remains functional and eco-friendly for years to come. 

Project Timeline

  • March 2025: Pre-construction preparations and site setup began.
  • April 11, 2025: Project team conducted exploratory investigations, finalized designs, and determined construction methods. Minor localized disruptions occurred near the Main Building.
  • April 25, 2025: Transition to demolition stage
  • May 2025: New construction begins
  • Duration: Approximately 2 years 
  • Completion Date: May 2027 (estimated)
