Three external awards you should apply for right now

There are more than 300 awards available to CNC students. If that’s not enough, loads of organizations are out there, right now, wanting to support you through school with scholarships and bursaries. Here is a breakdown of the top three external places with awards you should be applying for right now.

TC Energy

With more than 800 scholarships available worth up to $5,000, TC Energy could have an award with you name on it. They offer three streams of awards including:

  • TC Energy STEM Scholarship – for students studying science, engineering, technology, or math with a strong community commitment through leadership or volunteerism.
  • TC Energy Indigenous Legacy Scholarship – for Indigenous students enrolled in any full-time post-secondary program at a registered education institute.
  • TC Energy Trades Scholarship – for students studying trades related to the energy industry.

Rotary Peace Fellowships

These fellowships are designed for leaders with work experience in peace and development, and are awarded to those committed to community and international service and the pursuit of peace. The fellowships cover tuition, fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses. There are two program options for candidates to apply upon: A Master’s degree program, and a Professional development certificate program.

Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society

The Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society has helped make education more affordable for students since 2004. Their awards breakdown into five categories:

  • Indigenous Awards – $1,000 to $5,000 award open to students who identify as Indigenous.
  • Transition Award – $5,000 award open to students completing an Adult Basic Education program with plans to enroll in full-time post-secondary studies.
  • International Scholarship – $2,000 to $5,00 award for students planning to complete some of their post-secondary courses outside of North America.
  • Transfer Scholarship – $5,000 award for students transferring between two B.C. public post-secondary institutions.
