What is the Purpose of New Student Orientation?

As a new student, you are expected to attend Orientation to facilitate your successful transition into the College of New Caledonia. Meet the faculty and staff to help you prepare for academic success and career readiness. 

You are encouraged to participate fully in the orientation activities.

  • Get to know the College of New Caledonia student support services for your academic success and overall wellbeing.
  • Build connections with other students, faculty, and staff of CNC.
  • Familiarize yourself with spaces and places in your new community.
  • Learn about and sign up for the Peer Connector program.
  • Get connected to the Student Union and learn more about clubs and activities
  • Learn your rights and responsibilities within the campus community.
  • Did we mention fun? Free BBQ and prizes!

Orientation Passports

Grab a CNC Orientation Passport and get in on the fun and prizes!  Complete 7 of the 9 activities and you are eligible to enter the prize draw.  Prizes include; $500 tuition credit, parking passes, Cafeteria and Bookstore GCs, and a pair of Beats Solo 3 headphones!

Orientation BBQ

Start your year at CNC with a delicious BBQ in the front courtyard! Grab a free burger (beef or veggie) and toppings, fries, and a drink. Join us for music, photo booth, free popcorn and more!

Please plan to arrive to the BBQ at the following times:

11:30 am - 12:00 pm Health Sciences
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm HUB (formerly SUSCA)
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm ACE (formerly C&CE)
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm Open to all
