National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day)

Event Details

Event Description

Inspired by Phyllis Webstad’s story of her orange shirt, this day honours residential school survivors and remember those who never returned.  It also acknowledges the important work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, led by Chief Murray Sinclair and his team, which helped raise awareness of the impacts of residential schools and guided Canada on a path toward healing and reconciliation.  This day calls us to reflect, learn, and take meaningful action.
