All You Need to Know to Attend Your Ceremony
Caring for your Cap and Gown
- Hang your gown to help release any wrinkles.
- Do not wash, machine dry, or use a hot iron on the gown.
- You may lightly steam your gown if necessary.
Arriving at the Quesnel Campus
- Arrive between 11:30 am – 12:30 pm wearing your cap and gown. Late arrivals may not be allowed to participate. The convocation ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 pm.
- Guests and grads enter through the main entrance. Guests remain on the ground level and grads check in on the second floor to Room N206. Once checked in, grads will gather in Room S205.
- Valuables should be left with a friend/family member. However, if valuables are left in the classroom, a staff member will lock the door as the grads leave for the procession. You will need to find a staff member to unlock the door for you at the
end of the ceremony.
What happens during the ceremony?
The order of events will be outlined in the program. You will participate in the procession and be led to your reserved seating in an organized group according to the program. Please remain standing for the opening prayer and the singing of O Canada.
You are expected to remain seated until the end of the ceremony, as the entire group will leave in a procession to have a group photo taken. Further directions and details for the procession, ceremony, and photo will be posted in rooms N206 and S205.
Crossing the Stage
1. Wait for your name to be called.
2. When called, approach the stage from the right.
3. Go up the ramp, receive your folder from the President, and pause for a photo.
4. Exit down the left ramp and receive your CNC Alumni gift.
5. Return to your seat and remain seated until the ceremony ends.
6. At the end of the ceremony, you will exit in a group and reenter to the stage for a group photo. Enjoy a snack and refreshment with your guests after the ceremony.
Note:
As a courtesy to your fellow graduates, please remain seated on the floor until
the ceremony concludes. Leaving early is considered disrespectful to others who
are still crossing the stage.
Participate in the Ceremony
- Arrive early to take advantage of photo opportunities found around campus.
- Share photos of yourself using one of CNC’s snapchat filters.

- Use CNC’s official “Add Yours” story template. This template will be made available on June 10, 2025 at 8:30am.
- Post 6 unique photos from Convocation at the CNC Quesnel, including:
- A photo at Convocation
- A selfie at Convocation
- A photo in room N206 or S205
- Your CNC folder
- Your Alumni gift
- The Convocation reception
- Tag @cnc_quesnel and post to your Instagram story.
Note: You must tag CNC for your entry to count.
Limit one entry per person. The first 5 students to complete the prompt and tag CNC will be contacted about next steps for obtaining the sweater.

- Guests are welcome to attend and do not require a ticket. All guest seating is first-come, first-served.
- Doors open for guests at 11:30 pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00.
