Admission Requirements

The following admission requirements are effective October 1st, 2026

 General Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following General Admission criteria for admissions to most programs, as follows:

General Admission Requirements

  1. Completion of a British Columbia secondary school program, including a B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma), Adult Graduation Diploma, School of Completion (“Evergreen”) Certificate, or comparable secondary credential from another province or country;

  2. One course short of British Columbia secondary completion, or equivalent;

  3. Eighteen (18) years of age or older on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been enroled at a school for a minimum of one year;

  4. Visiting student with a valid Letter of Permission.

Note: Applicants admitted on the basis of a School Completion (“Evergreen”) Certificate, as references in section a.(i), or equivalent may, at the sole direction of the institution, be required to complete additional assessments or evaluations for the purposes of determining appropriate program placements, readiness, and any necessary academic or support services. Completion of such assessments does not guarantee admission to a specific program, course placements, or level of support, and the institution reserves the right to make final determinations regarding placement and required supports based on the results of such assessments.

Many programs will have recommended courses in addition to these requirements. To learn more about recommended courses for your program of choice, visit the program webpage.

 Standard Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the General Admission Requirements outlined above as well as an English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirement.

Note: Applicants who do not meet the ELP requirements can be admitted to programs with General Admission Requirements
