Event Description

Truth and Reconciliation Week closes in the ARC (room 1-773) with hands-on cultural learning led by Elders and artists. These workshops offer space for healing, reflection, and connection through traditional teachings and creative expression. 

Schedule 

  • 11:30am–12:30pm: Morning Smudge & Prayer Tie Teachings 
    Michael Antoine and Darlene McIntosh guide participants in smudging and the creation of prayer ties, sharing teachings about their purpose in healing and ceremony. 

    Outside, weather permitting or at Nahoonai-a.  

  • 12:30pm–1:00pm: Soup and a Bun at the ARC 
    Share a simple meal together as a time for reflection and community connection. 

  • 1:00pm–3:00pm: Healing Through Art Workshop 
    Indigenous artist, Karen Erickson, leads a hands-on creative workshop where participants use art to reflect, heal, and express their reconciliation journey.
