DESCRIPTION:
This course covers such topics as: gas laws, liquids and solids, energy and changes of state; water reactions, solutions; acids, bases, and salts; oxidation-reduction reactions, electrochemistry; reaction rates and chemical equilibria; organic chemistry. Lab work is an integral part of the course. Prerequisites: CHEM 045 or Chemistry 11 completed within last three years and one of MATH 044, MATH 045, or Principles of Math 11, Foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus Math 11 completed within the last year; or appropriate math level as evaluated by a CCP placement test
