Event Description

Guest Information

  • Guests are welcome to attend and do not require a ticket. Please ensure your guests are aware that we will be adhering to all policies and guidelines of the CN Centre.
  • Free parking is available at CN Centre.
  • Doors open for guests at 12:00 pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00.
  • Guests are not permitted in the lower level of the CN Centre.
  • Wheelchair accessible seating is available in sections V,W,X. It is recommended that you arrive early if you require special seating.
  • All guest seating is first-come, first-served.
  • The concession will be open for purchasing food and non-alcoholic beverage.
  • For those who can’t attend in person, the ceremony will also be live streamed. Find the live stream at

Graduate Information

  • Arrive at the CN Centre between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm with your gown and cap on. 
  • All valuables, bags, and jackets should be left with a friend or family member.
  • When you arrive, follow the signs at the main entrance to check-in on the lower level of the CN Centre. Find the table that has the first letter of your last name and receive your name card. Be sure to keep this card with you as you approach the stage to receive your 
  • Grad seating is on the floor area in front of the stage. You will be given a number at check-in that matches your assigned seat. There will be ushers and signage to help you along the way.
  • There will be water dispensers available, but we recommend bringing your own refillable bottles.
Crossing the Stage

You will also receive instructions on how to cross the stage upon check in.

  1. Listen for your program of study to be called.
  2. Once your program is called, approach the stage together from the right. Please ensure that you remain in the order in which you were seated. A ceremony marshal will be confirming the order before you reach the name reader. 
  3. Give your name card to the name reader at the podium and then go up the stairs on to the stage. Proceed across the stage and receive your folder from the President.
  4. Pause to take a quick photo with the President before you descend the stairs on the left side of the stage.
  5. Faculty or a CNC representative from your program will be at the bottom of the stairs to present you with a CNC Alumni pin.
  6. Proceed back to your seat. Please remain seated for the duration of the ceremony.
  7. After the ceremony, marshals will assist you in lining up and exiting the arena to rejoin your family and friends.
  8. After the ceremony, there will be a photo booth (section XY) and photo backdrops for grads available on the upper concourse.

At the end of the ceremony, there will be a cupcake reception held in the upper concourse of the CN Centre.
