DESCRIPTION:
|
This course surveys Canadian government and politics by exploring Canada's political culture and constitution, federalism, relations with First Peoples, federal offices, bureaucracy, and the courts. Students will also investigate the mechanisms that help mobilize and link citizens to government, such as political parties, elections, interest groups, and social movements. Students will thus develop a command of their political environment and an enriched understanding of dilemmas facing a diverse, liberal-democratic Canada.
