DESCRIPTION:

|
'A' certified welders (Multi-process Alloy Welder - MPAW) take welding skills to a specialized level. In Welder Level A students will master specialized welding techniques and identify which skills and types of metals are required to work out the best solution for the required tasks. The main topics covered in this course are describing and identifying specialized welding processes, interpreting and applying mechanical drawings and layout components, how to fabricate weldments, using the Shielded Metal Arc welding process on low-carbon steel plate and pipe and stainless steel, and how to use the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process for stainless steel. Must hold a Red Seal in the Welder Trades to be eligible to take this course.
