What you will learn

The Electric Vehicle Technology and Service Course prepares Automotive Service Technicians (AST) to safely diagnose and service high voltage electric vehicles. Certified ASTs and registered AST 4th year apprentices build on previous understanding of conventional vehicle systems to develop skills in preparation for the exponential increase in electrical vehicles on our roads.

This Electric Vehicle Training has a 6 hour online self-paced module that must be completed in advance of the 30 hour classroom/shop training period.

Careers in Electric Vehicle Technology

Electric Vehicle Technology graduates will be qualified to service and repair electric and hybrid-electric cars, or vehicles that run on both gasoline and electricity, not just in BC but also in other provinces. As an Electric Car Technician, your job will involve diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing these vehicles.

8:00 am - 2:30pm
Length: 36 hours over 2 weeks
Prerequisites: Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Endorsement or ITA Level 3 CofQ or higher
Delivery: Self-directed pre-course work (Mar 14 - 18). Face-to-face; Combination of classroom and shop (Mar 21 - 25)
