Event Description
This day is observed annually on the third Thursday of May. Founded in 2011 by Paul and Raven Lacerte, it began as a grassroots movement in British Columbia to raise awareness and end violence against Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people. The campaign also empowers young boys and men to take a stand against violence toward women and children. Participants wear small moose hide pins as a symbol of this commitment. The campaign has grown nationally and internationally, encouraging communities to promote safety, respect, and reconciliation.
