Event Description

Join us for an opening event to view a travelling art exhibition developed by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Artist Carey Newman.

The Witness Blanket is a powerful art installation created by master carver Carey Newman to recognize the atrocities of the residential school era, honour the children and symbolize ongoing reconciliation.

Inspired by a woven blanket, this cedar-framed artwork is made of hundreds of items from residential schools, Survivors, churches, governments and other cultural sites across Canada. Each item tells a story of loss, strength, resilience and pride.

The exhibition will be on display at the CNC Prince George Campus from December 4, 2025 – December 30, 2025. The Witness Blanket can be viewed during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:30pm

  • Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • Saturday from 9:00am – 3:00pm

  • Sunday the exhibit is closed

NOTE: The exhibit is closed during the College’s holiday closure from Wednesday, December 24 to December 28, 2025
