Event Description

Canadian Artists for Reconciliation and Education is hosting a Circle Talk: Stories of Resilience  event on Wednesday, November 12th in the CNC Cafeteria. The event is also available online, and a Zoom link will be provided after registration.

This event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members and will be a meaningful opportunity to listen, learn, and engage with Indigenous voices and stories. Registration is required to attend in person or online.



Guest Speakers: 

Murray Porter
Murray is a Juno Award-winning Mohawk musician from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory whose powerful voice and bluesy piano blend traditional blues with the stories and strength of Indigenous peoples. Beyond his acclaimed performances across North America and internationally, he is a passionate advocate for Indigenous rights and storytelling, using his music to inspire change and amplify community voices.

Elaine Bomberry
Elaine is an Anishinabe and Cayuga Indigenous performing arts activist, promoter, and producer from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory with over 35 years of experience advancing Indigenous representation in music and media. She has played a key role in initiatives such as CKRZ Rez Radio, ELMNT FM, the JUNO Aboriginal Award category, and the Rez Blues movement, and continues to support Indigenous artists through her talent agency and the 2 Rivers Remix Society.
