Event Description

Kickstart your career in welding at CNC Mackenzie! Join us for the Welding Foundations Information Session and explore the program, meet faculty, and participate in hands-on activities in our trades shop. 

RSVP today to secure your spot.  

By attending the event, you will: 

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Welding Foundations Program and what you can do with your education. 

  • Learn about CNC, the Mackenzie campus, and the various services available for students. 

  • Connect with other students interested in the program. 

  • Meet staff and faculty and hear about the industry leaders in the community and region. 

  • Tour the trades shop and participate in hands-on activities. 

Additional perks: 

  • Receive a CNC “Swag Bag” and enjoy light refreshments and snacks. 

  • We will waive the application fee to start January 2026 for anyone who attends and applies. This is a savings of $40.  

  • A CNC Admissions Officer will be in attendance to process your application on the spot. Bring your high school and other post-secondary transcripts so you won’t need to wait to hear if you have been accepted!

Why welding? 

As a welder, you will operate welding equipment to join ferrous and non-ferrous metals. If you enjoy variety in your daily activities, this is a rewarding career path. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate, qualifying you to work in a variety of jobs in the construction and metalworking industries. 

Welding Foundations will begin in January 2026. 

Career highlights: 

  •  According to WorkBC, over 3,100 welding jobs will be available in BC between now and 2034. 

  • Average annual salary for welders, according to WorkBC, is $66,739.
