To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the College of New Caledonia (CNC) has dedicated $92,750 to the creation of 90 new student entrance awards for the 2020/2021 academic year. All domestic students (both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal) who apply for credentialed programs at any of CNC’s six campuses for the 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters will automatically be entered for a chance to receive one of these unique entrance awards.
There are 90 awards divided among CNC’s program areas such as health sciences, community and continuing education, trades and university transfer. CNC is also offering 12 general entrance awards with four dedicated to international students, four for Aboriginal students and four for non-Aboriginal domestic students.
All you need to do is apply to CNC before 11:59PM PST on March 23, 2020 to qualify for entrance awards.
Students must apply to CNC by 11:59PM PST on March 23, 2020 to qualify for entrance awards.
Get more information on applying to CNC or start the application process.
Successful candidates will be notified in their letters of acceptance to CNC, which are mailed to students after March 31, 2020.
In the event that an entrance award is more than a student’s total tuition and student fees for the Fall 2020 semester, the remaining award funds can be carried over to the Spring 2021 semester. Entrance award funds cannot be used in the 2021 Intersession semester or forwarded into subsequent academic years.
If a student receives a 50th Anniversary Entrance Award, they are still eligible for other CNC awards. Full-time students who receive an entrance award would need to declare this amount on their BC Student Aid application.
Yes, students who are already receiving third party sponsorship are eligible for entrance awards. Applicants who receive an entrance award would need to understand the implications for their sponsorship, and can deny the award if requested.
