DESCRIPTION:
|
This course introduces students to the basics of qualitative methods and is open to students outside of anthropology. Because qualitative research is a multi-methods approach to the study of social interactions, students are introduced to a variety of data collection techniques, such as participant observatioons, interviews, and focus groups. In addition, students learn how to write a research proposal as well as how to analyze collected data. Ethical conduct is emphasized in the course.
