Dzenes hoonzoo - Good day:

On Friday March 1st, the Government of British Columbia announced new changes for International students.

Friday’s announcement means CNC may continue its enrolment plans as they have been approved. International students who choose to study with us will continue to have opportunities to do so. We do not anticipate major changes from our allotment of study permits.

For new International student applicants

All new applicants from January 22, 2024 onwards must have a “Letter of Attestation” from the province where the international student will study. This letter will serve as proof that the student has been accounted for under a provincial or territorial allocation within the national cap.

Once a student receives a letter of acceptance from CNC, we will provide a provincial attestation letter for their visa application process to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

For current International students

New study permits caps do not impact you if you are a:

  • Current student with a study permit;
  • New student starting the May 2024 Intersession term and have a confirmed visa; or
  • New student starting the September 2024 fall term and have a confirmed visa.

For all students:

CNC is committed to providing high quality education resulting in student success.

The College is privileged to have such a diverse student body including Domestic, Indigenous, and International students.

We have a support system to meet your needs. All students are encouraged to use these services to help you.

Our commitment to the CNC community

With the new allocations, CNC is well aligned with the objectives set out by the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills focusing on access to high quality education.

I thank all students for choosing CNC for their education and career advancement. As any new information becomes available, we will share it with you in a timely manner.

Snachalhuya - I thank you.
