CNC’s Board of Governors has approved a two per cent increase to tuition and mandatory fees for domestic students, and a four per cent increase for international student tuition and fees. These changes will come into place for courses or programs starting on or after August 1st, 2024.

The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills requires post-secondary institutions in B.C. to abide by their tuition limit policy when making changes. The tuition limit policy caps domestic increases at two per cent annually but leaves international increases to the discretion of each individual institution.

CNC has different tuition rates for domestic and international students. Funding from the Government of British Columbia offsets the full cost of domestic students’ education.

“Whenever we make decisions on topics such as tuition, we carefully consider students’ needs as well as the costs of providing their educational programs to come to a recommendation,” said Dr. Johnson. “The tuition changes for the coming year are at or below the rate of inflation and reflect our intention to keep college as accessible as we can.”

The college makes its tuition and fee decisions every year. CNC approves and announces any changes well in advance, so students have the most accurate information when making financial plans for their education.

“We are completing these changes earlier than we have in recent years to provide current tuition and fee information and to give more time for international students in particular to consider the costs of studying at CNC in their applications,” said Shelley Carter-Rose, CNC’s vice president of student affairs.

CNC is one of the most affordable colleges in British Columbia. The College currently has the fourth lowest tuition for international students in the province and the second lowest tuition and fees for domestic students.  This may be subject to change as other institutions review their tuition and fees.
