The CNC dental assisting graduating class of 2021 outperformed the nationwide average when writing the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB).

All 16 CNC graduates who wrote the NDAEB were successful with an average score of 77.1 per cent. This was 4.5 per cent higher than the 72.6 per cent average of all first time NDAEB writers who took the exam in June 2021.

“We’re very proud of the quality of the dental assisting program at CNC,” said program coordinator and instructor Cyndi Lewis. “This is reflected by the achievements of our students and the Certified Dental Assisting candidates who graduate from CNC.”

Passing the NDAEB assures a graduate has met the national standards set by Canadian regulatory authorities to be recognized as a dental assistant.

Certified Dental Assistants are educated, licensed and regulated members of an integrated dental healthcare team providing oral care services to patients.

The practice of dental assisting involves collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals to achieve and maintain optimal health and overall health and well-being.
