COVID-19 Update 2

The CNC community has done a tremendous job as we increased face-to-face instruction this fall through the COVID-19 pandemic. We wish to share information with students and employees to promote on-going health and safety within the CNC community.

What we are doing now, and how you can help:

Regional health orders: special orders for most of NH’s region remain in effect and have been extended. These includes limits to gatherings. See page two for a summary of those orders.

Mask use at CNC

Mask use is required in all public spaces at CNC, including classrooms.

Vaccination for COVID-19

Registration and appointment booking for the COVID-19 vaccine are still available. We encourage CNC employees to speak with their primary care provider and seek trusted sources of information about specific interventions and their personal health. You can register at getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca or by calling 1-833-838-2323 .

Celebratory events

Departments have asked about the potential holiday celebrations. Here is how to celebrate safely and comply with public health orders. These rules apply for CNC on-campus events only:

  • Stay home if you are feeling unwell or experiencing any of these symptoms: fever or chills, cough, loss of smell/taste, and/or difficulty breathing. This applies even if you’ve been previously vaccinated.
  • All people attending the celebratory event (aged 12 and older) must be fully vaccinated and must show proof of vaccination.
  • Indoor events are limited to 50 people. The size of facility must be large enough to comfortably accommodate those attending.
  • Masks are required to be worn unless eating and/or drinking, and participants must be seated while their mask is off.
  • Hand sanitizer must be available if food and drinks are being consumed.

Monitoring one’s health

We ask students and employees to continue to monitor their health every day before coming to a CNC campus. Please do not come to campus if you are sick. If you have symptoms including a new fever or cough, you should also self-isolate and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
