CNC will move forward with a new art installation in the Prince George Campus main entrance, showcasing the entire region that CNC serves.

The installation replaces a display that was more than 20 years old and at the end of its operational life. The new exhibit offers an exciting opportunity to develop a lasting art installation that supports reconciliation, celebrates diversity, and provides a strong welcome at the Prince George Campus.

CNC will consider designs and choose an artistic team to:

  • Create a positive first impression for new visitors, and reinforce that impression to returning students, employees, and visitors;
  • Develop a project that aligns with CNC’s mandate and strategic priorities, including initiatives that support meaningful reconciliation. The exhibit would recognize the territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation and the 22 First Nations and Indigenous groups in the region CNC serves; and
  • Recognize the diversity of the CNC community.

We have issued a call for expressions of interest among visual artists, designers, and or architects with an affiliation to CNC’s regional service areas. Aboriginal individuals, collaboratives, or teams with a connection to the region will be given priority. The process will include consultation with the project’s Aboriginal Advisory Group of Elders.

We have posted the initial call for expressions of interest on the BC Bid website at bcbid.gov.bc.ca. The College will consider and short-list candidates in the months ahead. The intention is to complete the project by the end of the 2021.
