DESCRIPTION:

English 051 (equivalent to English 050; similar to English First Peoples 12) prepares students for post-secondary academic English courses. Students will develop their writing, research, critical thinking, and oral communication skills while learning about First Peoples' perspectives, ways of knowing, and knowledge-sharing. Students apply what they learn about the history and current effects of colonization to oral and written literature by First Peoples, as well as to their final research project. This course was developed with guidance and input from First Peoples community members in the CNC region. Cannot also hold credit for ENGL-050.
