Join us in congratulating Dr. Tamara Chambers-Richards, Dean of Health Sciences.  Tamara is this year’s Bronze recipient of the Colleges and Institutes Canada’s (CICan’s) Leadership Excellence Award for managerial staff. The awards recognize best practices from institutions across the country, as well as individual leadership and achievements.

Tamara was recognized for her work here at CNC in equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization, and her work with provincial ministries, Northern Health, and of course here, in making CNC an early adopter of the provincial Health Care Assistant Pathway Program, in which Northern Health sponsors employees to train as health care assistants. This has been a great example of the type of multi-partner program that reaches out to students across the entire CNC region who would not otherwise be able to access post-secondary education.  On Tamara’s behalf, I’d also like to thank everyone within CNC who has worked to make this novel program a success.
