The Government of British Columbia has announced beginning Friday March 11th, masks will no longer be required in public places and businesses throughout the province. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has encouraged mask use in areas where people are close to others.

CNC has carefully implemented public health guidelines related to COVID-19. We strongly encourage everyone in the college to continue to wear masks in public areas at CNC campuses (including classrooms) for the time being out of respect for others.

CNC remains focused on ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone. Wearing a mask is a way to be mindful of those around you.

It’s important to remember each person will have a different comfort level as we ease into this change. We should also be considerate of others who have compromised health, either themselves or family members, for whom wearing masks lower their risks of infection.

At the Government of British Columbia’s news conference on Thursday, Dr. Henry noted, "I'll continue to wear my mask if I'm on public transit and I would encourage others to do so too. We know it protects us, but it's also a sign of respect and protection for others."

Your ongoing kindness and patience will go a long way in easing the transition for the comfort of our community. We will provide you new information and updates on this recommendation at regular intervals.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
