COVID-19 Update 6

On the advice of the BC Government as of yesterday, CNC will delay the general start of classes until Monday January 10th. The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (courses coded NURS), practical nursing, and trades apprenticeships will resume as scheduled on Tuesday January 4th with safety precautions in place.

CNC’s campuses will be open on Tuesday January 4th. While the resumption of classes may be delayed, students can access services at campuses.

CNC has been monitoring the Omicron variant of COVID-19 and its potential impacts on student programs. We are committed to following public health orders and guidance to support the health and safety of students and employees. We have taken this approach throughout the pandemic. The delayed start will provide time to assess the impact of the Omicron variant and review plans for returning to campus after the winter break.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry notes post-secondary institutions remain at a very low risk for COVID-19 transmission. You can read the Provincial Health Officer Letter to learn more.

We ask students and employees to continue to monitor their health every day before coming to a CNC campus.  Please do not come to campus if you are sick. If you have symptoms including a new fever or cough, you should also self-isolate and seek medical advice as soon as possible.

We will provide you updates as we have them. We will post any updates at cnc.bc.ca/covid and on our social media accounts.

Thank you and all the best for your studies in the new year.
