The CNC Prince George atrium lit up with Christmas trees and festive lighting

Many in the CNC community will enjoy some well-deserved rest and recreation as 2021 winds down. Before the term is complete, I would like to pass along my thanks to students and employees for your commitment in the past year.

We had hoped for the COVID-19 pandemic to be in the past by now. CNC’s students have done an excellent job as we returned to greater in-person learning this fall under new safety guidance. CNC employees across our six campuses have worked very hard to ensure students have the best possible experience and exciting opportunities, while adopting new practices to support health and safety.

We can celebrate many accomplishments in 2021. I think of:

  • The launch of the lhulh whuts’odutel’eh | Learning Together strategic plan in May;
  • The completion and opening of the new Vanderhoof campus in August, as well as the Nahoonai-a Indigenous student housing building in Prince George in September;
  • An increase in domestic enrolment this fall while we managed the challenging international recruitment environment; and
  • The Strategic Enrolment Management Symposium in October which involved a successful and impactful learning opportunity across the CNC community.

A new year offers an opportunity for renewal. We are collectively improving the college. We are becoming more student-centric. We are implementing new approaches that are strengthening CNC’s foundation.

On behalf of the CNC leadership team, I wish you and yours a very happy, healthy, and safe holiday season. I look forward to your on-going commitment in 2022 to learning together, changing lives, and creating futures.
