COVID-19 Update

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Northern Health have announced new regional health orders to slow the transmission of COVID-19. Here are the impacts at CNC and how we will work together to address them.

CNC events: we will re-evaluate CNC events for students and staff to ensure we are implementing the BC Vaccine Card as required and maintaining capacity limits. Each CNC event requires a COVID-19 safety plan to support the health and safety of students and employees.

Vaccination: Registration and appointment booking for the COVID-19 vaccine continues. We encourage those in the CNC community to speak with their primary care provider and seek trusted sources of information about specific interventions and their personal health. You can register at https://www.getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca/ or by calling 1-833-838-2323. We will continue to work with Northern Health and its partners on additional pop-up clinics at CNC campuses.

Non-essential travel: Dr. Henry has recommending limiting travel to essential work or medical reasons only. For CNC staff on college business, travel within and outside the region is limited to essential travel only. Employees asking to travel should speak with their supervisor.

Mask use: We appreciate the efforts students and staff are making to support the provincial mask mandate at CNC. Mask use is required in all public spaces at CNC, including classrooms.

Respecting provincial health orders: we understand the concern and frustration as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

We ask everyone in the CNC community to follow Northern Health’s orders. Please take the health measures required to protect yourself as well your family, friends and colleagues including getting immunized, monitoring one’s own health daily, as well as isolating and seeking medical advice if you feel unwell.

 Thank you.
