A message from Dr. Dennis Johnson, President and CEO
Library Quesnel 3

I am very pleased to welcome students to intersession 2021. The return to longer and warmer days may not be a natural fit with classes, labs, workshops and assignments. But spring is a time of renewal. What better way to do so than by enhancing one’s skills through learning. I hope your studies will be engaging and productive.

We continue to provide services with safety plans designed to keep students and employees safe from COVID-19. I realize the fatigue people feel in the second year of the pandemic. I ask for your continued care and vigilance as we keep ourselves and each other healthy and safe.

You can do your part by:

  • Maintaining two meters of distance from others at all times;
  • Wearing a mask in all indoor public areas and common spaces;
  • Regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub;
  • Staying home, self isolating and seeking medical advice if you have COVID-19 symptoms including (but not limited to) fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath; and
  • Respecting and abiding by all provincial health orders intended to keep citizens and communities safe.

I am hopeful this term will be the turning point for the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination efforts are well underway. We are working closely with the provincial government and other post-secondary institutions to update how we can return to face-to-face instruction in the fall.

Thank you to students for entrusting us with your learning goals. I also want to thank the nearly 800 CNC employees who have continued to do their best and work in very different ways to meet the college’s educational mandate across the communities we serve.

Thank you.
