CNC’s top priority is to have a safe fall term. To support the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors, CNC strongly recommends and asks that non-medical masks or face coverings be worn in all indoor common areas while on campus.
The BC Centre for Disease Control, the Provincial Health Officer, and the Public Health Agency of Canada have all recommended wearing non-medical masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
It is important to remember that masks and face coverings do not replace 1) the need to maintain two meters of physical distancing, 2) hand washing and 3) staying at home if you are sick. These are the most effective ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Please note:
- Common areas include building entryways, classrooms, labs, shops, washrooms, study areas, hallways, elevators and stairwells; and
- According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, face coverings (in addition to non-medical cloth and disposable masks) can include bandanas, niqābs, scarves or neck gaiters.
Thank you for helping support the health and safety of the CNC community.
