COVID-19 Update 4

Message sent on behalf of President Dennis Johnson,

Dear CNC students and employees,

This week marked the start of online and alternate program delivery at the College of New Caledonia in response to COVID-19.  The last few weeks have challenged all of us, but also brought out the best in people, as we do our part to protect our community by following the requirements of our Government and the Provincial Health Officer. At this time, I would like to acknowledge and thank the many people who helped make this week a success.

To the employees of CNC, faculty, operational staff and leadership who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the transition to online and alternate delivery possible.  I’ve heard countless positive comments and accolades and genuine appreciation for all who made this transition possible.  I wish to express my gratitude as well.  I'm very proud to be part of this remarkable team.   Thank you for doing what CNC does best; responding to the needs of the community and the students it serves.

To the students who have had every part of their educational experience turned upside down; thank you for your incredible cooperation and flexibility. By working patiently with your instructors and the other CNC employees that support the learning enterprise, you will not only support your own learning but also help improve the experience of your fellow students.

Finally, I want to encourage everyone to remain vigilant and continue to follow all of the recommendations of the healthcare experts. All indications are that our region will need to remain vigilant for some time. Flattening the curve, slowing the transmission of COVID-19 is everyone’s responsibility. So please do your part to look after yourself, your family and your community.

All the best and take care,

Dennis Johnson

President and CEO
