Frequently Asked Questions
You are not allowed to use electronic devices during testing unless specified by your instructor (for example, permission to use a calculator) or included in your approved accommodation plan. Approved accommodations may include assistive technology such as a laptop, screen reader, or dictation software. Prohibited electronic devices include, but are not limited to, smart phones, tablets, cell phones, Bluetooth devices, digital cameras or camcorders, watches, or any device capable of recording or creating a digital image.
Please see the admissions testing page for more information.
The Academic Success Centre has a variety of handouts available. Please ask the staff.
The Academic Success Centre also provides access to Accessibility Advising. If your question relates to an approved accommodation, our Accessibility Advisors can help with that. For general academic advice or counselling not tied to an accommodation, please see Academic Advising and/or Counselling.
Academic integrity at CNC means being honest, responsible, and respectful in your learning. It includes:
- Creating and submitting your own work
- Giving proper credit when you use someone else’s ideas or words
- Collaborating only when your instructor allows it
- Using tools (including AI) only when permitted and appropriately cited
Not sure what’s allowed? Your instructors and the tutors at the Academic Success Centre are here to help — just ask!
