Admission Requriements
General Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following General Admission criteria for admissions to most programs, as follows:
General Admission Requirements
- Completion of a British Columbia secondary school program, including a B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma), Adult Graduation Diploma, School of Completion (“Evergreen”) Certificate, or comparable secondary credential from another province or country;
- One course short of British Columbia secondary completion, or equivalent;
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been enroled at a school for a minimum of one year;

Note: Applicants with a School Completion (Evergreen) Certificate may be required to complete additional assessments – see the Admission Procedure for further information.
Many programs will have recommended courses in addition to these requirements. To learn more about recommended courses for your program of choice, visit the .
Standard Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the General Admission Requirements outlined above as well as an English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirement.
Note: Applicants who do not meet the ELP requirements can be admitted to programs with General Admission Requirements
Progression Plans
Some CNC programs allow you to choose how you plan to progress through your studies. When you apply, you may be asked to select a Standard Progression Pathway or a Flexible Progression Pathway.
Standard and Flexible Progression are different from “full-time” and “part-time” status. Full-time and part-time may be defined differently for purposes such as student financial aid, immigration, tuition, tax, or other requirements. Your progression pathway simply tells CNC how you intend to move through and complete your program.
Not all programs offer both options. Where both are available, students may request a change later. Moving into Standard Progression may depend on available course and program capacity.
