Explore your business ideas with experienced support
Thinking about starting a business, working for yourself or bringing an entrepreneurial approach to your career? The Entrepreneur Mentorship Initiative connects CNC students with practical guidance to explore their ideas and plan their next steps.
Delivered in partnership by the College of New Caledonia (CNC) and Northern Innovation Network (NIN), the initiative connects learning opportunities with foundational business skills. Access one-on-one mentorship, explore business issues and solutions.
A partnership that connects learning with experience
CNC and NIN are working together to strengthen entrepreneurship support for students.
CNC provides institutional support, including campus meeting spaces and coordination with students. NIN brings entrepreneurial expertise and mentorship, connecting participants with perspectives and hands on learning.
Through this partnership, students can explore how their education, skills, and interests could translate into self-employment opportunities and a future business.
What you can explore
The initiative includes occasional workshops and guest lectures. Where suitable projects and community partners are available, students may have opportunities to apply their learning through community-based projects with mentorship and feedback.
Your questions and goals help shape your mentorship conversations. Areas of support include:
Talk through an idea and identify the next practical steps.
Develop your understanding of business finances and pricing decisions.
Explore record-keeping and the everyday responsibilities of running a business.
Consider how entrepreneurship or self-employment could fit into your future.
Learn about the entrepreneurs, employers and organizations that support business in Northern BC.
Who can participate
The Entrepreneur Mentorship Initiative is open to CNC students interested in entrepreneurship, self-employment and career development. Participation extends beyond Business Administration to other areas of the college, including Health Sciences, Human Services, and Trades, Applied Arts and Technology.
