DESCRIPTION:
This course provides the student with basic principles, characteristics and biological effects of radiation. Radiation safety, quality assurance and the utilization of dental images in all aspects of the Assessment, Dental Hygiene Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADPIE) process are presented. Learners will identify normal and variations of normal anatomy and discuss interpretation basics for dental hygiene care. In Clinic 2, students continue to build on radiographic techniques from Clinic 1 and will demonstrate effective technique and use of dental images.
