Faculty Professional Development
Purpose of the Funds
All PD Funds are intended to support faculty employees in activities that enhance present skills and knowledge, adapt to new work methods, prepare for career advancements within the College, as well as any other activities acceptable to the PDC.
The Professional Development Committee (“PDC”) is a joint CNC-FACNC committee responsible for administering applications for faculty employee professional development activities each fiscal year (April 1 – March 31) through two professional development funds.
Inquiries have been made regarding information for final PD Reports. Please see the various samples below showing courses, conferences etc. (Samples will be posted as we receive them)

Please note! Each of the forms in the list above consists of two pages. These forms will open in Microsoft Excel. At the bottom of the form as you will see two page tabs, please ensure that you click on each tab and complete filling in the required information for each page before submitting the form. Please use the forms listed on the website for each new application so that any changes will be reflected in the new form.
Performance and Development Planning for Administrative Staff
The College has established a Performance and Development Plan (PDP) that provides a process for employee planning and reviews on an annual basis and sets the foundation for achieving and acknowledging excellence. The value of the PDP is in the process of ongoing communication, which occurs between supervisor and employee throughout the year, in support of accomplishing the strategic objectives of the College. The process includes clarifying expectations, identifying goals, setting objectives, providing feedback, and evaluating results.
The PDP uses competencies and proficiency levels to focus on behaviours and actions that support the achievement of goals. There are six standard competencies all CNC Administrators must be evaluated against and additional competencies that can be selected for optional evaluation if appropriate for the position. Learning and Professional Development
The last section of the PDP document focusses on annual and ongoing professional development to ensure employees have the skills to succeed both in their present position and in future opportunities.
PDP Annual Cycle
The PDP cycle is comprised of three phases:
Phase I – Planning: June – July
Phase II – Monitoring and Updating: August – May
Phase III – Summary and Assessment: May – June
