CNC hopes to raise enough money from sales of its 2012 wall calendar to purchase an electric hospital bed for its health sciences students.
The $5 calendars are on sale throughout the holiday season at CNC’s bookstore. Nursing students will also be selling calendars at Costco this weekend, Dec. 3, 4 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Canadian Tire Dec. 10.
“We are hoping to buy a $5,000 Hill-Rom 1000 Electric Bed for our nursing simulation lab,” said Randall Heidt, CNC’s Director of Communications and Development. “Our nursing students are fortunate enough to train on the life-like VitalSlim manikin simulator and this bed has functions that allow the manikin to be positioned as a real patient would be.”
The 12-month calendar features photos by Andrea Johnson of CNC students and also contains coupons and money saving deals from dozens of local businesses.
“For the price of a Christmas card, this calendar is something that can help you remember special occasions all year long, while also benefiting our students,” said Heidt. “We are grateful to our sponsors who helped make this project a reality.”
